Considerations for a built-in display (e.g. a laptop screen)

  • Built-in displays typically use connector types: Embedded DisplayPort (eDP) off the chipset, eDP off a mobile processor, or LVDS
  • To check if your built-in display uses an eDP or LVDS connector type:
  1. From the Windows Start Menu, search for the Intel® Graphics Control Panel. Double click the Intel® Graphics Control Panel icon.
  2. Select Options and Support.
  3. Change System Information to Built-in Display.
  4. Check the Connector Type field.
Or
  1. From the Windows Start Menu, search for the Intel® Graphics Command Center. Double click the Intel® Graphics Command Center icon.
  2. Select Display.
  3. Select Information.
  4. Check the Connector Type field.

Supported configurations

To find the maximum number of screens and resolution supported by your Intel® Graphics Devices, follow these steps:

  1. Visit the product specification site.
  2. Search for your processor model. If you don't know your model number, you can use the Intel® Processor Identification Utility.
  3. Under the Graphics Specifications section, find the maximum resolution specs and maximum number of displays supported by the graphics controller included in that processor.

For the following graphics products, most combinations of HDMI, DVI, VGA, DisplayPort (DP), Embedded DP (eDP), and Intel® Wireless Display (Intel® WiDi) support three independent displays:

  • Intel® UHD Graphics 605/610/620/630
  • Intel® HD Graphics 610/615/620/630
  • Intel® Iris® Plus Graphics 640/650/655
  • Intel® HD Graphics 500/505/510/515/520/530
  • Intel® Iris® Plus Graphics 540/550/580
  • Intel® HD Graphics 6000/5500
  • Intel® Iris® Graphics 6100/6200
  • Intel® HD Graphics 4200/4400/4600/5000
  • Intel® Iris® Graphics 5100/5200
