Vào ngày 14 tháng 5 năm 2019, Intel và các đối tác khác trong ngành đã chia sẻ thêm chi tiết và thông tin giảm thiểu về một nhóm lỗ hổng được gọi chung là Lấy mẫu dữ liệu vi kiến trúc (MDS).

MDS là một lớp con của các lỗ hổng kênh bên thực thi đầu cơ đã được tiết lộ trước đó. Đầu tiên nó được xác định bởi các nhà nghiên cứu và đối tác nội bộ của Intel, sau đó được báo cáo độc lập bởi các nhà nghiên cứu bên ngoài.
